The Boy EnigmaHe was always the one who was quiet, and kept to himself.
I'd see him in the hall, in a big rain coat, his hair unkept, and his (beautiful) eyes to the floor.
I was the eccentric one with big boots and rainbow socks. I was loud and outspoken, and everything I did became a rumor. I was a painter, a writer, a musician. Picasso moved me.
He'd sit there and listen to me jaw on about things, deep things, things I don't normally share. He'd carelessly comment here and there. When it was his turn to talk, he'd talk about video games, or writing, or people he knew.
Despite the lack of depth in his words I could look in his eyes and tell he was brilliant, a genius, the smartest person I ever knew. Occasionally we'd have challenging conversations about philosiphies on life. Where I'd struggle to understand he'd always know what to say.
It's funny that so many like me want me, love me...but my heart lies with the boy enigma. The one nobody speaks of, or has heard of.
Schoolyard CrushesIn a world where gas is 20 bucks
and crushes are a dime a dozen
It's quite hard to find one like you
I wouldn't sell you for a million bucks.
Whether it was fate or just stupid luck
It's not another schoolyard crush.
And oh, by the way
I love you, you idiot.
Life's like an auction
Place your bid and hope for the best
I'll bid on the one that has nothing to say.
I bid my heart, five bucks, and a paperclip too.
